Lead in Drinking Water Study
Posted on October 2nd, 2016
Elk Island Public Schools (EIPS) is currently conducting a study on the level of lead in the drinking water at all of its schools. The study is a proactive effort to ensure drinking water in all of its buildings is safe for staff and students.
In June, water samples were collected at our school from the primary drinking outlets—the fountains and taps used for drinking and cooking. We are pleased to inform you, the results are in and all samples taken are within Health Canada’s guidelines for the maximum allowable concentration of lead.
